Employment Opportunities The Department of Public Safety offers employment, as openings occur, in a diverse educational setting including police officer, telecommunicator, parking enforcement, LAN, management, clerical, and student work positions. To apply for all full-time positions (everything except student workers) you must contact Human Resources at (618) 536-3369 or at the SIUC Human Resources website. Applications cannot be submitted to the Police Department. To apply for part-time Saluki Patrol student work positions, you may download the application below, fill it out, and drop it off to any Telecommunicator at SIUC Police Department (see instructions below) or stop by the SIUC Police Department at 705A South Washington Street and pick up an application from the Telecommunicator on duty.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants from other state universities in Illinois (members of the State University Civil Service System) can apply as lateral transfers and do not have to go through the testing process. Current police officers from other jurisdictions are also encouraged to apply, but must go through the testing process due to civil service system rules.
